βš–οΈSybil Score

TLDR for talents

  • Aim to actively use your wallet to increase your Sybil Score and gain visibility among projects and other talents

  • Connect your wallet to your profile to receive your first Sybil Score

  • Start by earning the first 25-35 points easily and then continue to challenge yourself to reach higher scores

  • Avoid wallet inactivity to prevent penalties

  • A few simple actions can help mitigate any penalties for absence

TLDR for project teams

  1. Use the Sybil Score to assess talent on-chain activity

  2. Sybil Score identifies the talents most engaged in Web3, utilize this information to find the talents best suited for your project or tasks

The Sybil Score offers a dynamic, multi-factor scoring system to represent on-chain activity of talent wallets. Project teams can use this to identify genuine Web3 users among sybils or newcomers.

Scoring calculation

There is no maximum score in the Sybil Score system, as it is designed to allow participants with significant on-chain activity to continue accumulating points. The scoring formulas are structured so that the initial 25-35 points are relatively easy to obtain. However, as the score reaches 50-60 points, each additional point becomes progressively more challenging to earn. Sybil Score also includes penalties for prolonged inactivity, though these penalties can be largely mitigated by performing a few actions after a period of absence.

The "dynamic scoring" aspect means the score can fluctuate daily, increasing or decreasing based on ongoing activity. This approach differs from the fixed scores used by TrastaLabs and the slower score reduction used by GitCoin.

Currently some of the data is collected from the Ethereum chain, with plans to incorporate other chains in the future.

Scoring factors

The final score is determined by the following factors, each with its own range:

  • Native (0 to 10 points): Presence and quantity of native tokens across multiple EVM networks

  • Tokens (0 to 10 points): Presence and quantity of ERC20 tokens across multiple EVM networks

  • Age (-∞ to 10 points): Wallet age, considering various factors such as:

    • Days from first transaction

    • Days from first outbound transaction

    • Days from first to last outbound transactions

    • Days from last outbound transaction

  • Activity (-∞ to 30+ points): Wallet activity, considering:

    • Active days

    • Active months

    • Active years

  • Transactions (0 to 20 points): Number and type of transactions, considering:

    • All transactions

    • Outbound transactions

    • Unique transactions

    • Inbound transactions

    • Error transactions

  • NFT (0 to 10 points): Number of NFTs in the Ethereum network

  • ENS (0 to 5 points): Presence of an ENS domain and its expiration

  • Gitcoin Passport Score (0 to 35+ points): Score from the Gitcoin Passport

This comprehensive scoring system encourages continuous on-chain activity by talents and provides project teams the ability to identify genuine Web3 users.
